TasteAtlas recently published its 'Top 20 Wraps in the World' list, which came as a surprise to us. The indispensable flavor of Turkish cuisine, chicken doner and/or meat doner, which is the first name that comes to mind when we think of street food, was not included in the list.

Tantuni, a flavor unique to the Mersin region, which later became a passion for all of Turkey, settled in the third place on the list with a score of 4.4. The other flavors that took the first and second places scored 4.5.

1. Greece Gyros

2. South Korea Sangchu Ssam

3. Turkey Tantuni

4. Mexico Enchiladas Suizas

5. USA Carne Asada Burrito

Greece's Gyros is actually not that foreign to us. Derived from the Greek word 'gheereezo' which means 'to turn', Gyros, both with its name and recipe, is quite similar to our doner. Gyros, a common street food in Greece, is made by slicing the meat into thin slices and usually placing it between bread with tzatziki, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and cucumber.
