Touchdown On Mars! Nasa's InSight Successfully Landed On Mars To Study The Red Planet!

After nearly seven months traveling through space, NASA’s InSight spacecraft landed on Mars on Monday with massive cheers on Earth!

Nasa's InSight has touched down successfully on Mars after 300-million-mile journey!

After “seven minutes of terror,”as engineers describe, it’s NASA’s first such landing attempt on the Red Planet in six years.

According to Nasa, 18 out 44 attempts were completely successful to land on Mars.

The control room of NASA erupted in cheers when it became clear InSight was safe on the ground and people jumped out of their chairs to embrace and applaud!

In New York City, revelers also cheered on the landing in Times Square!

After the successful landing, Nasa shared a photo of Mars which is taken by InSight.

The first image includes the dust cover still on the lens but it was cleaned.

InSight aims to study the world's deep interior, and make it the only planet - apart from Earth - that has been examined in this way.

"This is our first opportunity to look deep inside another planet, to look at the structure and find out why it ended up the way it did,” said Rain Irshad.
