Endnight Games has been deafeningly quiet since the release of The Forest in 2014. It became an immensely popular game which has sold over 5 million copies, and now the silence has been broken as they announce the release of Sons of the Forest, a new horror survival game which has the potential to break The Forest’s popularity.

The game was revealed for the first time back in 2019. It was also supposed to be released last year, but it was pushed back to early this year. The game is a sequel to The Forest, a game in which players had to survive in a forest full of cannibalistic creatures and hostile wildlife in order to reclaim his kidnapped son. Here is the trailer of the game below.

Sons of the Forest - Official Gameplay Trailer

As seen in the trailer, there are many new elements in the game that were not present in The Forest, such as cannibals wearing masks and stealing your chopped logs. The upcoming game appears to promise a larger map, more grotesque enemies, and even an advanced AI system.

Endnight Studios recently announced the game's delayed release on their official Twitter account. This decision was made since the studio believed they were being “too ambitious” with their projects. Here is the tweet posted below.

The delay of the game’s release has hugely disappointed fans who have been hoping to play it ever since 2019. But, putting that aside, Endnight Studios appears to have high hopes for the game's future and will almost certainly introduce a slew of exciting new content that players have never seen before in The Forest.
