Erling Haaland Emerges as Major Transfer Promise in Barcelona Presidential Race
In anticipation of the presidential elections to be held at FC Barcelona this Sunday, candidate Víctor Font has placed Erling Haaland at the center of the transfer agenda. While Font's visit to the Manchester City camp has fueled transfer speculations, both the club's side and the player's agent are making cautious statements regarding the matter.
Rumors suggest that the English side is approaching with caution.

Ahead of the presidential elections scheduled for Sunday at FC Barcelona, candidate Víctor Font has identified Erling Haaland as the club's primary transfer target. Font's visit to the Manchester City camp has fueled rumors of a 'transfer operation,' although the English club and the player's agent are approaching these speculations with caution.
According to a report by The Times, Font expressed in an interview with Cadena SER on Wednesday, that Haaland should be a long-term transfer target for Barcelona.
Did a clandestine meeting take place in Madrid?

The sight of Víctor Font leaving the hotel where Manchester City was staying in Madrid sparked speculation in the Spanish press that a 'transfer operation is underway'. Font was accompanied by Carles Planchart, known for his close ties to Pep Guardiola and his previous work as an analyst at City.
The Catalan sports newspaper, Sport, claimed that Font and Planchart met with City Football Director Hugo Viana at the Four Seasons Hotel to discuss the future of Erling Haaland. On the other hand, the Manchester City side downplayed the allegations, characterizing the visit as a courtesy call made by Planchart to his former colleagues with whom he had worked for many years at the club.
"It doesn't seem feasible in the short term."

Continuing with his remarks, Víctor Font pointed out that Erling Haaland's contract with Manchester City has been extended until 2034, and went on to say:
'Even though a signature seems unlikely in the short term, I personally don't believe such long-term contracts will be fulfilled. We should always be prepared for a player who loves Spain and has expressed his admiration for Camp Nou. Real Madrid is also interested, so I'm convinced that we can make a move that will protect us and provide us with this option.'
The manager responded harshly to the rumors.

Rafaela Pimenta, in response to the transfer rumors surrounding Erling Haaland, debunked the speculations during her appearance on El Chiringuito de Jugones. Pimenta stated, 'We hold Barcelona in high regard, however, neither Erling nor we have initiated any contact with Barcelona's management. Our player renewed his contract just a few months ago and he's very content at Manchester City. There's no need to discuss a transfer when everything is going smoothly.'
