Those who like rap music, especially those who are updated with the recent hot and rising stars in the industry, would know who Polo G is. The young rapper has been in the industry for just about four years now and yet he has already made a name for himself and his music. Being one of the youngest rappers  today, surely there are a few things that we could learn from Polo G’s life, career, and how he built the net worth that he has today.

Polo G was born as Taurus Tremani Bartlett on January 6, 1999. He grew up in Old Town, Chicago, Illinois. His family was not really well-off and they lived in the Marshall Field Garden Apartments, a government subsidized housing.

He didn’t have it easy growing up. There were multiple times that he was arrested because of his involvement in drugs, car theft, and high-speed car chases versus the police.

After he graduated from high school, he was supposed to go to Lincoln University as a broadcasting major but decided to not attend the first day of classes. From then on, Polo G decided that he would be focusing on his music career full-time.

After deciding to focus on his career full-time, Polo G released his first song “ODA” on YouTube. He signed up for SoundCloud in 2018 and uploaded “Gang with Me” which instantly became a hit within the community, so he uploaded a few more songs which also gained traction on the platform. In the latter part of 2018, he released “Finer Things”, a song that he apparently wrote while he was still incarcerated. The song, similar to his other uploads, quickly gained a million streams. He continued to give more music to his fans so collaborated with rapper Lil Tjay for the song “Pop Out” in 2019. The song peaked at the number 11 spot on Billboard 100.

Take note that during this time, Polo G was still not signed to any label and was basically releasing music on various platforms as an independent artist. The song’s music video instantaneously racked up more than 200 million views on YouTube and that led him to being recognized by Columbia Records wherein he was finally able to land a record deal.

He released his debut studio album Die a Legend  in June 2019 and the album peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200. Since then, Polo G did not stop releasing music for his following.

Polo G also established his own record label, Only Dreamers Achieve (ODA), in October 2020.

In June 2021, he released Hall of Fame, an album which landed on the number one spot of the US Billboard 200, making it his first album to reach top one.

Aside from the royalties that he gets from his music, Polo G also earns more through his tours and some merchandise that are available on his website.

He is actively touring the U.S. in March 2022 and his last stop will be in Indiana. He will take a short break and continue his tour in June of the same year in Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, Belgium, the U.K., and Canada.

We can only think how much money Polo G already has earned since he started his career. The now 23-year-old owns an 11,000 square foot mansion in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. He was also listed on Forbes’ 30 under 30. As of today, his net worth is at an estimated $3 million but is expected to go even higher considering that he still has a lot of years ahead of him to continue making music.
