Nothing beats the feeling of being a child and being carefree. However, those are the good old days for us to reminisce about, and what we have now to discover is the genius conspiracy theories that the legit (and detail-oriented) SpongeBob fans all over the globe.
Let us take a closer look at seven different mind-bending fan conspiracy theories that we might not have (or might have) heard of over the years.
However, fair warning to you all, reader discretion is advised.
7. Each SpongeBob Character Symbolizes the Seven Deadly Sins
You may have heard about this theory because this one might be the most popular among the conspiracy theories we listed, and we cannot get over how genius this theory is!
However, if you have not heard about this theory yet, let us start with what seven deadly sins are all about.
For starters, the Seven Deadly Sins originated from the theology of the Roman Catholics, which tackles seven behaviors that a Christian might experience that could eventually lead them to sin and end up in hell.
The Seven Deadly Sins are the following: Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth.
With this introduction, we hope you got the gist of the Seven Deadly Sins. In light of that, let us now dive deeper into which SpongeBob character represents each of these Seven Deadly Sins.
1. Sandy represents Pride
To start, Sandy is known to be proud of her achievements, unsolicitedly sharing everything about her works, research, and her projects. She is pretty passionate about what she does.
To be fair, she has everything to be proud of her athleticism, Texas, her home country, and of course, her occupation as a scientist.
Being proud of yourself is not something to be ashamed of; however, when being proud becomes excessive and it starts to degrade others, then it may eventually lead to something not good.
2. Mr. Eugene Krabs represents Greed
Oh, money, money! Mr. Krabs is known to own and manage the most famous fast-food restaurant at Bikini Bottom, the Krusty Krab.
Being a businessman, it is only natural that he wants his business to thrive and grow. He will make whatever it takes to earn profit or everything that involves money, including often mistreating his employees or even deceiving customers.
Again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to earn money, but at least make the approach decent. The obsessive and selfish desire of Mr. Krabs for money drives him to do corrupt doings, ergo, causing him to sin.
3. Pearl represents Lust
Pearl is a cheerleader who is often in love with boys and obsessively gushes over them. She also cries when they do not reciprocate her feelings.
Additionally, she is pretty materialistic since she often asks her father, Mr. Krabs, to grant her something that Pearl wants, and she also cries when not given it.
4. Plankton represents Envy
One of the known mortal enemies of Mr. Krabs is Plankton, as he is obsessively envious of the thriving business Mr. Krabs and would do anything to get his hands on Krabby Patty's secret formula.
5. Mrs. Puff represents Gluttony
For OG SpongeBob fans, Mrs. Puff is not only the strict and short-tempered Driving Teacher of SpongeBob.
Looking closer at her personal life, she is depicted to love food whenever she has free time. She loves Krabby Patty, Pasta, Chocolate Cake, and more! That is why she is illustrated as plus-size if you look closely.
6. Squidward represents Wrath
If SpongeBob seems to not run out of energy, Squidward appears to be out of it, even at the very start of the show.
He seems to be angry at the rest of the world and would isolate himself forever if given a chance. He hates everything that is fun, he hates his job, and how he hates SpongeBob!
His anger issues brought him to this spot.
7. Patrick represents Sloth
Last but not least is the adorable best friend of SpongeBob, Patrick the Star.
Frequently, Patrick gets late about the latest news not because he lives under a rock but because he just loves resting, and resting, and resting...
Well, who does not, right?
He could last a day doing absolutely nothing and is not ashamed of it. These habits make him earn a symbol for Sloth.
6. Mr. Krabs is not Pearl's Biological Father Nor Her Step Father but Her Sugar Daddy
Are you also one of those wondering why Pearl is a Sperm Whale and Mr. Krabs is a crab, and yet, they are introduced as father and daughter?
Well, if this sparked a question for you, what do you think might be the reason? It's because fans have conspired with a theory that she might be his sugar baby!
It only makes sense because she loves spending Mr. Krabs' money, always calling him daddy, despite the fact that Mr. Krabs' wife does not exist.
If this conspiracy theory happens to be accurate, since Mr. Krabs is a bachelor, he does not want a lifetime commitment but only opts to have a younger and fresh teen satisfy him.
5. SpongeBob's Humor Fits the Humor of Adults More Than Children
SpongeBob is a children's animation comedy show. However ironic it sounds, the writers' sense of humor must fit the adults more than the children. It's a good thing that the kids still don't get them. Yikes!
Upon learning this theory, have you ever pondered how tricky it was that SpongeBob is still as good as we know it, even though we have watched it multiple times already? Kudos to the writers, of course!
There are a lot of adult-rated touches of humor hidden in SpongeBob, even back then when we used to be children. It is a good thing that kids only watch to enjoy, not critique, different technicalities of SpongeBob.
4. Krabby Patties' Secret Ingredient Is What The Name Suggests... It's Crab Meat
Mr. Krabs and Plankton have been enemies ever since, and what fuels the fire between then-best friends-turned-mortal-enemies is the success of Mr. Krabs' restaurant business and Plankton's flopped restaurant.
Plankton would do anything to get his hands on the Krabby Patty formula, from deceiving SpongeBob and Patrick to working for him just to know the fuss about Krab's burgers.
However, despite his hard work, he seems to fail miserably even though he has already tried so hard.
Because of this, fans started to wonder what might be the other reason why Mr. Krabs is pretty serious about protecting the formula when Plankton was, in fact, his best friend since birth.
Fans have conspired, it turns out, that Mr. Krabs is ashamed to expose where the meat of Krabby Patty is made, which is the crab meat, as it would imply that he is a cannibal.
If this turns out to be accurate, would you judge Mr. Krabs for killing the crabs of his own to earn money?
3. Nuclear Testing Gone Wrong is The Big Bang Theory for the Bikini Bottom
Why is it that Bikini Bottom seems to be the only active underwater city? The fans conspired that this phenomenon happened because nuclear testing went wrong that caused the affected marine creatures to mutate.
It is interesting how a Nuclear Bombing may represent the Big Bang Theory for us humans, that because of phenomena like these, they can spark lives and even start a whole new universe.
It is interesting how they live a life like they are humans, going to school, being able to work, socialize, feel their feelings, and even want to learn how to drive a boat mobile!
2. The Misadventures of SpongeBob is just a Dream From the Coma-induced Driving Teacher Mrs. Puff
SpongeBob's strict and ill-tempered driving teacher, Mrs. Puff, always gets so angry whenever SpongeBob does not do anything right.
Since SpongeBob is a terrible driver, fans have conspired that SpongeBob might have crashed the boatmobiles he's been driving with Mrs. Puff, tragically injuring Mrs. Puff so bad she experienced comatose.
While unconscious, the whole series of SpongeBob is her dream, still following the one who caused her to be in a state of comatose.
1. The Tragic Self-Inflicted Death of Sandy Cheeks
This theory is probably one of the darkest ones among the other theories.
Devoted Spongefans have come up with a fictional band called the Infection, in which Sandy is a member. To complete the band's lore, they made up every single detail and biography of the band.
According to the so called incident report from the Johannesburg Police Department, Sandra Cheeks was discovered unconscious on July 16, 2017 with numerous cuts on her arms and shoulders and some cocaine around. She was 44 at this time.
Prior to her passing, Sandy Cheeks was reported missing on July 15th after a number of missed calls and voicemails from SpongeBob SquarePants' main guitarist and vocalist, as well as former band manager Randy Washington, were left.
We can all agree that these fan-made theories are what makes a cartoon or series more interesting to watch. However, these details are all just fan-fiction and fan-made, and none of these came from Nickelodeon and SpongeBob makers.
We hope we tingled your wild imagination today. See you on the next post!
