Australian Kids Drama Series ‘MaveriX’ Debuts Netflix in May 2022


'MaveriX' is an Australian children's and young adolescent drama television series that launched on ABC Me on April 1, 2022. It was shot over the course of four months in 2021 and received significant government financing to get it off the ground in order to help promote the national pastime around the world, which it will do with its Netflix release.

It was primarily shot in the Australian outback, specifically near Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory. Netflix, interestingly, has opted to capitalize the X in MaveriX. All ten episodes are now online, but only to Australian residents.

‘MaveriX’ Release Date

Season 1 of ‘MarveriX’ is planned to premiere on Netflix worldwide (except Australia) on May 12th, 2022.

‘MaveriX’ Storyline

The story follows a group of junior motocross racers who are chosen for the first MaveriX Academy in Alice Springs, Australia's dirt bike racing capital. The academy pushes the six teenagers to their limits, and they eventually get the chance to join a professional racing team.

‘MaveriX’ Cast

The series stars Darcy Tadich as Scott, Tatiana Goode as Jenny, Sam Winspear-Schillings as Bear, Tjiirdm McGuire as Richie, Sebastian Tang as Kaden, Charlotte Maggi as Angelique, Jane Harber as Tanya, Rohan Nichol as Griffo, and Kelton Pell as Vic Simmons.

‘MaveriX’ Production Details

‘MaveriX’ is written by Sam Meikle, Fin Edquist, Michelle Offen and Kelly Schilling. The 10-part series is produced by Rachel Clements and Trisha Morton-Thomas at Brindle Films. The executive producers are Bernadette O’Mahony and creators Rachel Clements, Sam Meikle and Isaac Elliott. MaveriX was filmed in Alice Springs in 2021.
