The expected explanation came from Issa’s Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director, Jonathan Wilcox:

'Trump has inspired and supported the cause of peace.' Speaking to The Hill, Wilcox stated, 'Congressman Issa recently led a congressional delegation (Codel) to four Middle Eastern countries, where he firsthand observed the genuine and multilateral spirit of peace and moving away from conflict, as conveyed by several heads of state.'
According to The Hill, Wilcox also said in his statement, 'After being elected and sworn in, President Trump inspired and supported the cause of peace in a way we haven’t heard in years.' He also emphasized that Trump advocates for a world without war.
