The Miraculous Survival of a Citizen in Hatay: Worthy to be the Subject of Movies
Adnan Fırat, a citizen caught in the rubble during the earthquake in Hatay, was miraculously saved and became a topic of discussion on social media. Fırat's bravery in saving his foot, which was trapped in iron and in danger of developing gangrene, was highly praised.
While the number of people who died in the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that took place in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş at 04:17 was constantly increasing, we also witness miraculous salvations.
Citizens who were rescued hours after the earthquake, 2-month-old babies, children brought hope to all of us. Of course, no one could hold back tears when they saw those moments...
We were all relieved that Adnan Fırat, whose house was destroyed, saved himself from gangrene thanks to the saw that fell next to him while he was trying to escape.
‘’So... my leg was stuck under the rubbles while I was trying to escape. My knee area is in a really bad condition. There was only one step left ahead. The people around this part of the rubble probably passed away… By the way, a miracle happened. I found this saw which was stuck in here and luckily, I could reach it and let it loose, and I was able to cut these two metal bars. But my condition is not so good…I’ve been trying to cut those bars for the last 2 hours to avoid my leg to turn to gangrene.‘’
After this miraculous video he shared, Fırat gave us the good news that he survived.
