The beloved Shrek series, one of the animated films we keep coming back to and enjoy watching, is making a return. The impact of the first film is still felt, where we followed the life of a huge ogre.
Shrek was even better than we expected!
Each movie in the series brought a new excitement, and the love story between Shrek and Fiona became a part of us all. Yes, there was adventure and action. In the story, Shrek made great efforts to rescue Princess Fiona. But in the end, happiness awaited us all—just like an ogre!
It was such a huge love that Fiona agreed to become an ogre for Shrek.
Our real-life lovebirds didn't seem like the perfect match. With one being human and the other an ogre, it looked a bit funny on screen, but Fiona didn’t care about that. Shrek repeatedly tried to explain the situation to Fiona but received a negative response. However, Fiona didn't give up on her love and agreed to become an ogre for Shrek.
The long-awaited new film, Shrek 5, will be released on December 23, 2026.
In this sequel, we will continue to follow Shrek and Fiona's lives, now that they have children. If you remember, they had dozens of children, but we were introduced to their little baby, Felicia. However, there was something odd about this little girl.
Of course, their children were ogres, so it made sense that they would be unusual, but we’re talking about something even stranger.
The original voice cast, including Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Fiona), and Eddie Murphy (Donkey), is returning for the film, and Zendaya will voice Felicia. While this is fantastic news, there was one change that didn't escape the viewers' attention.
