The word fexting is derived from the English words 'fighting' and 'texting'. Fexting means fighting and arguing over text messages.
Not being able to control your emotions while texting, being misunderstood because of texts, not being able to express yourself fully can lead to fexting.
Although fexting is a common behavior, the reason it is given a special name is because it is actually damaging to your relationship.
Until today, you may have fexted many times without knowing the meaning of the term fexting. You may have wanted to react immediately to your partner who was not with you at that moment, and as a result, you may have caused misunderstandings.
Moreover, it has been revealed that when fexting, individuals behave more harshly than they normally do. As a result, any issue that can be resolved when you talk face to face turns into a complete chaos when you talk over a message.
Of course, it can be a big problem if the other person cannot hear your voice, cannot see your body language and can text sentences that they would not normally say.
Fexting, where negative emotions are very intense, can actually be turned into an advantageous situation. It is helpful to think about what you are going to write before you send your message. However, make sure that you do not discuss important issues for your relationship in a message, at least make a video call.
