Gearbox has recently announced that a new Tales from the Borderlands is set to be released this 2022. The new Tales was said to include brand new characters and more adventures to look forward to. The brand new game will also be released by 2K, who was also responsible for the whole Borderlands franchise.
According to Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford, the details of the new Tales will be revealed this summer. Also, in a tweet posted by GearboxOfficial, we can see a teaser image of the new game.
Tales from the Borderlands was initially released by Telltale Games back in 2014. The plot of the game revolved around two characters named Rhys and Fiona, who sought out to open a vault that was full of glimmering treasure.
According to a review posted by IGN, they shared: 'With only a brief introduction to Rhys and Fiona, they have already become a pair of my favorite Telltale characters, and the fantastic final scene of the Zer0 Sum has been anxiously awaiting my return trip to Pandora.' I mean, who wouldn’t like Fiona, she’s an awesome con-artist for crying out loud.
The upcoming Tales game will no longer be handled by Telltale Games since they have previously shut down due to funding issues. Instead, Gearbox Software and 2K will hold responsibility for handling the game.
There isn't much information about the upcoming Tales game since only a teaser was shown. But it's very surprising since the game was only announced recently and is now set to be released this year.
The Borderlands film was released in theaters last year, and it starred a number of well-known actors and actresses, including Black Jack and Cate Blanchett. Tiny Tina's Wonderland, a Borderlands spin-off, was previously released in March.
