> How to Survive in Minecraft

You just bought the game, and now you create your first world. As your world is done generating, you see vast plains full of wildlife, tall mountains that reach the heavens, and dark caves that send shivers down your spine. Curiosity gets the best of you, as it does for all new players. As nightfall approaches, you realize you have no food, no resources, and no shelter to protect you from the dangers of the night. Frustration kicks in as you have no idea what to expect. This article will cover the basics of how to survive in the popular sandbox game.

Wood

Wood

Wood will be your best friend, from the start and through the long run. Wood is the primary resource for building structures such as a house to protect you from the dangers of the night. It is also used to create basic tools such as swords, axes, and pickaxes. Swords are used for fighting mobs and hunting animals for food. Axes on the other hand are mainly used for chopping wood faster. It could also be used as a weapon, dealing more damage than a sword but swings much slower. Pickaxes are one of the game's most important tools.

This tool is required for you to progress further in the game. They are used for mining resources that can improve the quality of your structures and your tools.

Food

Food

Another important resource is food. Food is required to keep yourself alive, just as it does in real life. Food can be found anywhere in the game, including animals, plants, and generated structures. It could also be obtained by farming. Farming is especially useful since it allows you to grow your own crops and maintain a steady supply of food when no sources of food are nearby.

Also, food serves as stamina. Sprinting depletes the hunger bar, making you unable to sprint when it is nearly empty.

These are the basics needed to know in order to survive the sandbox game.
