Glass Onion quickly earned rave reviews since its September 10, 2022 debut, described as big, broad, funny and colorful by a top critic. It also became one of the most viewed films on Netflix since landing on December 23. Glass Onion gained more views in its second week than it did in the first.
Not only did Glass Onion top the platform’s streaming board, but it also ranked #3 on the weekly charts of other streamers. Netflix’s Addams dominated Nielsen ratings on the week of December 19-25 last year, accumulating 1.8 billion minutes worldwide until Glass Onion and Amazon Prime Video’s Jack Ryan season 3 beat it out.
Glass Onion continued to dominate streaming charts until the week of January 9-15 when new TV series releases took the prime spot, including Emily in Paris season 3, Kaleidoscope and Ginny & Georgia seasons 1 and 2.

Like its 2019 predecessor, Glass Onion: A Knives Mystery features a thrilling storyline packed with suspense and backed up by an all-star-studded cast having the time of their lives.
The intrepid detective Benoit Blanc starring James Bond actor Daniel Craig returns, this time on a lavish private Greek island dominated by a group of queer friends who reunite annually, under the invitation of billionaire Myles Bron, portrayed by Ed Norton (The Incredible Hulk).
Among the party, guests are Leslie Odom Jr.'s (Harriet) Lionel Toussaint, a cutting-edge scientist; Janelle Monáe’s (Hidden Figures) Andi, Myles’ former business partner; socialite Duke Cody starring The Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista and his overly young girlfriend Whiskey starring Madelyn Cline of Stranger Things; Claire Debella, Connecticut's governor starring Kathryn Hahn (Mrs Fletcher); former model and fashionista Birdie Jay starring Kathryn Hahn (Bride Wars) and her assistant Peg starring Jessica Henwick of Busgirl.
Each character has their own skeletons in the closet and so when someone turns up dead, everyone is a suspect, and it's up to the esteemed detective to save the day.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery received over 70 award nominations and won 24. Though it doesn’t rate as highly as the subsequent Knives Out, which scored 97% on Rotten Tomatoes (supported by an audience score of 92%), it is an equally satisfying follow-up.
Glass Onion's Rotten Tomatoes score lies at 92%. However, the audience appears to be more impressed, giving a 93% score.
