Grab a hanky for you will burst into tears because the beginning of the end happens in ‘After Life’ Season 3.

The Beginning Of The End

The last season of the heart-warming Netflix series After Life will be hitting our screens this 14th of January, 2022

Ricky Gervais is a well-known British writer/director/comedian. Also, a lead actor of the show, Ricky Gervais’ flexibility is evident in his works. He did a number of scripted series but never had made a third season before except for this ‘After Life’ series.

Ricky Gervais said that season 3 of this Netflix original comedy series, as with most of his works, would be its final vow, no matter how much the viewers would wish more. In fact, he mentioned in an interview in Deadline that he really should have continued to the fourth season but that he didn’t want to risk the hype and the audience shares.

‘After Life’ Season 3 Synopsis from Rotten Tomatoes

“Tony had a perfect life -- until his wife Lisa died. After that tragic event, the formerly nice guy changed. After contemplating taking his life, Tony decides he would rather live long enough to punish the world by saying and doing whatever he likes. He thinks of it as a superpower -- not caring about himself or anybody else -- but it ends up being trickier than he envisioned when his friends and family try to save the nice guy that they used to know.”

Ricky Gervais’ expertise in making the viewer laugh and cry at the same time in his shows is evident, and ‘After Life’ is one of those. A roller coaster of emotions will be felt in this series finale as Tony deals with a new relationship with nurse Emma, played by Ashley Jensen, and the grief of his dying father. As Gervais promised, there isn’t always a ‘happily ever after’ ending in every story.
