The super colorful Vancouver-made Animated TV series starring the everyday lives of Ponies in Ponyville was fun to watch. Don’t let the fluffy cutesy stuff deceive you- My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is relatable to viewers of all ages, not just toddlers.

But lately, you don't hear much about the TV show. This is because the show ended in 2019 after nine seasons and more than 200 episodes.

What is ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’ About?

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a reboot of My Little Pony that aired for two seasons from 1986 to 1987. 

The story began in 2010 when Princess Celestia sent her top student, the bookworm Pony Twilight Sparkle to Ponyville to enhance her socialization skills. Twilight quickly makes five new Pony friends, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, each with different personalities and gifts of laughter, honesty, generosity, kindness and loyalty respectively. The pony friends learn that working together helps them achieve harmony and overcome any evil.

The animated series' snappy dialogues and captivating storyline makes it surprisingly palatable. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic scores 89% on Google Reviews and 7.6/10 on IMDb.

The series also spurned films, including My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (2013) and My Little Pony: The Movie (2017).

Fans of the animated TV show can catch the episodes on Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+. Netflix removed the first eight seasons of the show from its catalogue on February 1 2022.
