Sanhok was released in PUBG in 2018, making it the game's smallest map. The map was extremely difficult to play on since enemies were more difficult to locate due to overgrown vegetation and the large number of players landing in a single location.

It was more popular than Erangel since it offered close-quarter combat as well as a more immersive jungle warfare experience. Sanhok has been altered numerous times, making it highly contentious among fans and players.

Krafton recently announced that the OG Sanhok map will be reintroduced in the next update, with all previous adjustments removed. The update was previously only being planned, but it has now been confirmed and will be released soon. Furthermore, players can gain early access to the OG map on PUBG test servers.

The following are the changes that will be made in the Sanhok update. The loot truck, decoy grenade, and even the jammer pack will be removed. The Bootcamp, Docks, Ruins, and Quarry will all return to Sanhok. Finally, the map will revert to its original Southeast-Asian theme.

The Sanhok map will not be identical to the previous version. Only the features that made Sanhok iconic will be retained. For PC users, the update was already available on April 13; console users will have to wait until April 21 to immerse themselves in the old Sanhok map.
