This movie will take the story 25,000 years before the known events of the saga. Speaking to MovieWeb, Mangold explained that his aim is to tell a completely original story, without adhering to the established narratives of the series.
"This film will focus on the origins of the Force, exploring how it emerged, was understood, and controlled."
Mangold noted that the project will resemble epic films like The Ten Commandments. The production date for this project, announced by Lucasfilm in April 2023, has yet to be revealed.
