West Coast rap legend Ludacris had teamed up with tech giant Google to release his new single, ‘Buying All Black,’ with an interactive music video.

The song and video from the three-time Grammy winner features Flo Milli and 70 Black-owned businesses.

The release of the production comes in time to celebrate the third yearly US-wide campaign known as ‘Black-owned Friday,’ this week.

The interactive video sees Ludacris transported to different Black-owned businesses through the rapper’s Google searches.

The various wares sold by each Black business featured are highlighted during the video — including the clothing donned by Ludacris and Flo Milli in the production.

The “Black-owned Friday” campaign was launched two years ago as an alternative to the seasonal post-Thanksgiving ‘Black Friday,’ shopping sales in the USA.

Hip hop magazine ‘VIBE,’ reported that a statement from the ‘Black-owned Friday’ campaign aims to “celebrate Black-owned businesses that were facing serious systemic challenges as the pandemic was accelerating.”

Ludacris also a spoke on the matter.

“As a business owner, I am so passionate about supporting Black entrepreneurs and really wanted to celebrate the impact they make on their communities,” the rapper stated.

“We’re showing people how to search on Google for Black-owned businesses, and reinforcing that we all have a choice when we search for businesses to support and shop our values,” he added.

Recently, Google has chosen to assist the shopping movement by creating badges for Black owned businesses that allow black enterprise owners to identify their business as Black-owned to shoppers.

The hope is that it will encourage black consumers and others who want to help black businesses to shop with them.

Luda’s “Buying All Black,” song aims to put shine a light on the “Black-owned Friday” campaign.

On the track, Ludacris spits: “Ok I’m buying all black, dropping all stacks/ B-U-Y B-L-A-C-K in all caps/ Out the traps to get the riches, the senseless still pay the tax/ Build a business, can I get a witness?/ This here, was built on our backs.”

Flo Milli also adds to the theme of the song as it progresses: “Okay my hat matching my bag, I guess we buying all black/ This 4c, this ain’t tracks, so if you touch it you get smacked/ Buying all Black, I’m never thinking twice, you can do it too if you just pay the price.”

Businesses can find out more about help available to them online on the Black-owned Friday website.
