Although touristic places usually come to mind when it comes to Izmir, there are many beautiful villages hidden from the busy life of the city. These villages can make you plan your retirement in these villages before you even know it. Let's take a look at these beautiful villages, of which some are known as “Slow food” villages and some are even on the UNESCO list.

Germiyan Village, named after the Germiyanogullari Principality during the Ottoman period, is the first settlement in Türkiye to join the 'Slow Food' movement. The hidden gem is a village in Çeşme district of Izmir. Since Germiyan Village is close to the most famous holiday resorts of the region, it is approximately 24 kilometers from the center of Çeşme and 15 kilometers from Alaçatı, which consequently has made this village even more popular.

Kozbeyli is a village where you can experience the tranquil village life. Olives and grapes have been at the forefront of agriculture in the region as they were thousands of years. This has led the village to organize the Grape Festival every year in the third week of August.
