Almost all Soulsborne games pose a high level of difficulty. Dark Souls 3 is no exception, as it is one of the most difficult games in the Souls series from FromSoftware. Every item you find in the game will almost certainly be useful to you, as you'll need every last one of them to outwit the game's toughest bosses.

A YouTuber named ymfah recently made Dark Souls 3 look like a walk in the park. No, he didn't break any speedrunning records or complete the game without getting killed. He finished the game without moving. Yes, you read that correctly: he completed Dark Souls 3, one of the most difficult action RPGs without taking a single step.

Ymfah beat the game using the Thief class that equips the character with a bandit knife and a short bow. The Thief class also enabled him to use the quickstep skill which lets him dash around and perform light attack combos. Ymfah used the skill to his advantage, allowing him to beat Dark Souls 3 without using his left analog on his controller.

How to beat Dark Souls 3 without Walking

“I like challenging myself with interesting ideas,” he said. “More specifically, I like solving challenges like puzzles. I set a strict goal, I plan ahead using the knowledge of the game, and when I meet an unexpected hurdle I try to overcome it with new and interesting ideas. I’m on PC so I used steam controller settings to disable my left stick. It wasn’t really necessary since I had practice with that no-walk Skyrim and didn’t touch the stick then.”

According to ymfah, the hardest part of the run was doing the TearDrop glitch. The glitch allows players to avoid killboxes by abusing the Tears of Denial spell. Ymfah also stated that he died numerous times as a result of the challenge's extreme difficulty. He mentioned that the most difficult part of his run was facing Slave Knight Gael, who could be found in Filianore's Rest.

While he did this almost-impossible feat, ymfah also plans to recreate the run in FromSoftware’s new game Elden Ring. “I’ll be interested in doing something similar for Elden Ring for sure. Bloodhound Step should make things easier,” he said.
