Blessed is the Hand that Gives: Chef José Andrés' 'We Feed People' Drops on Disney Plus this Friday, May 27th
We Feed People is a documentary series following Chef José Andrés' World Central Kitchen (WCK), a non-profit organization. It features volunteers, as they offer food to people undergoing community, climate, and humanitarian crises. Academy Award champion Ron Howard of A Beautiful Mind directs the film.
While the organization has international branches, its recent response to the Ukraine war survivors has brought it into the spotlight. The organization set its operations at the Ukraine-Poland border as soon the Russian forces attacked Ukraine early this year.
What Does 'We Feed People' Involve?
In this documentary, Ron Howard covers WCK's progress over 12 years, from its genesis as an unsystematic squad of volunteers to emerging as one of the highly-respected non-profit organizations in the humanitarian sector.

The trailer kicks off with Andrés on a vessel in floodwaters striving to reach the survivors of a severe storm. 'I hope we will successfully feed the people and be safe in this mission,' mentions Andrés.
He also covers the genesis tale of the World Central Kitchen and how he wished to make an organization that could counter life-threatening events by assuring that food is always available. With the organization's current achievements in Ukraine, we can be assured that this documentary will inspire many.
