Part of being famous is giving interviews, signing autographs, and posing for pictures with fans; and these all happen publicly. Publicity is part of the game, and many celebrities accept that they would never be in a film or sell their music without this free publicity.
However, being out there doesn’t mean that someone else has the right to violate your privacy and leak your personal stuff online. But cyber bullies seem to think otherwise. These trolls just love to steal and sell photos of famous women. Here are 15 female celebrities whose photos were leaked online by hackers.
1. Jennifer Lawrence
Oscar-winning Jennifer Lawrence was the most prominent victim of the scandal in 2014. It was thought that around 60 images, as well as a video, featuring the actress, were leaked via 4chan.
2. Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried's stolen photos included nude shots and 'intimate moments' with a former partner. In a letter from Seyfried's lawyers, it explains that the images were leaked and 'wrongfully obtained by a third party or parties without Ms. Seyfried’s knowledge or consent.'
3. Blake Lively
Pictures of Lively posing nude in a mirror turned up online. However, the former Gossip Girl star claimed that the snaps were fake.
4. Vanessa Hudgens
The High School Musical star had intimate photos leaked three times over three years.
5. Kirsten Dunst
The actress responded to her nude images being leaked online by tweeting sarcastically: 'Thank you iCloud,' along with two emojis, a slice of pizza and poop.
6. Melissa Benoist
Melissa Benoist was one of two Glee actresses whose alleged naked pics leaked, as part of the massive celebrity hacking scandal in 2014. Melissa, 25, who plays Marley on Glee fired back in response to her breach of privacy. The star tweeted “incivility should not be supported,” out to her nearly 350,000 Twitter followers.
7. Amber Heard
Dozens of naked photos of the stunning actress in various states of undress were leaked online in 2014. As well as that a video purportedly showing the star performing a striptease intended for her fiancé, Johnny Depp, circulated the web.
8. Katie Cassidy
Actress Katie Cassidy was one of the latest to join the long list of 'Fappening' victims. Along with the rumored sex tape, several personal images of the actress, in various stages of undress, were also believed to had been leaked online.
9. Scarlett Johansson
Johansson refused to feel bad about her photos. 'I know my best angles. They were sent to my husband,' she said of the incident. At the time, she was married to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds.
10. Kelly Brook
In 2014, intimate pictures of the star, showing show the 35-year-old in a variety of provocative poses lying on a bed while completely nude, turned up on the internet. And again in 2015, over 20 of the star's private photos were leaked.
11. Yvonne Strahovski
Yvonne Strahovski's nude photos were leaked online by hackers. These leaked photos were part of the celebrity iCloud hack in September 2014.
12. Emma Watson
It's was a big week for Emma Watson with her much-anticipated live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast coming out, but a celebrity photo hack was attempted to shift the spotlight.
Dozens of photos from a private session with a stylist were stolen and posted online. None of the photos were nude, her publicist said, and the actress took legal action over the hack.
13. Kate Hudson
Nude photos of Kate Hudson have allegedly been leaked online by hackers in April. The images of Hudson show the actress sitting down naked in two photos, along with three other photos.
14. Rosario Dawson
Rosario Dawson also allegedly had nude images posted online by hackers in April. Dawson was nude in the 11 images that were leaked online, most of which show her lying in a bed.
15. Sienna Miller
Actress Sienna Miller appears to have become the latest celebrity to have intimate pictures stolen by hackers and posted online. The images are said to be of the 35-year-old British star topless while wearing a mask over her face.
They are believed to have been released by hackers who cracked the passwords of cloud storage accounts, social media sites, or messaging services belonging to the actress or her friends.
