We use cardboard boxes for many purposes, but have you ever think that you could use them to make sculptures? Well, we haven’t. Here’s a compilation of 26 works by Japanese artist Monomi Ohno who used empty boxes as a canvas for her incredible art!

1. Monomi Ohno looks at cardboard box very differently. To her, they're not just common trash.

3. But Japanese artist Monomi Ohno sees it as a building material for her amazing 3-D sculptures!
4. It all began during her studies at Osaka University of the Arts...
5. ... where she decided to specialize in 3-D animation.
6. Yet to get your hands on the necessary software, you'd have to pay a pretty penny first.
7. So instead of spending all that money, she decided to use the stash of empty Amazon boxes laying around to hone her 3D modeling skills on.
8. What was supposed to be practice, has turned her into a cardboard artist!
9. The empty boxes have become a canvas which she can now turn into literally anything.
10. From tanks, rifles, and pop culture characters to even food!
