The introduction of the camera feature to phones completely revolutionized our culture of photography. Although it now feels like an integral part of our lives, this technology is not that old. In the past, we only captured our special days and moments, but now we can document every second of our lives. Moreover, we carry these moments with us everywhere. However, a technical glitch can turn all these memories into nothing but trash.
A woman shared the photos she found in a 20-year-old phone she bought from a flea market. These images took us all back to the early days when camera phones first entered our lives.
A technology that spans 26 years.

The first camera phones in the world were produced in Japan. The first phone to be commercially available with an integrated camera was the Kyocera Visual Phone VP210, which hit the market in 1999. Its camera was located on the front. The first model that had a camera on the back and could share photos digitally (providing the first real 'camera phone' experience) was the Sharp JSH04, which was released in 2000.
Turkey was introduced to this technology and saw the official market entry of camera phones in 2002. The technology, which we first encountered with the Nokia 7650, has rapidly evolved to its current state. Now, the cameras on phones are not falling short of professional cameras.
