Woman Angers Massive Hippo After Failing to Throw Fruit into Its Mouth

Hippos are enormous herbivores that can weigh more than a ton, spend much of the day in the water, and open their mouths nearly 150 degrees wide. Though they’re used to visitors feeding them at zoos and may look endearing, they’re considered among Africa’s most dangerous animals.

At a zoo, a young woman tried to toss fruit from a bag into the mouth of an eagerly waiting hippo. But after several missed attempts, she finally tried the animal’s patience. The hippo churned up the water and charged toward her, leaving onlookers laughing at the scene.
