If you've heard of the internet, then by now you've heard of Tim Burton's Wednesday, a readaptation of the Addams Family, centered around a teenage Wednesday Addams. The series has been breaking records left and right. It continues to hold the number one spot on Netflix 5 weeks after its debut. It also holds the record for the most hours watched of any English language series in the platform's history, and it's their third most-watched English language series of all time. There are a lot of reasons why the series was so successful. The deadpan humor, their seamless appeal to their target demographic, and a stellar aesthetic are just a few. Wednesday is a beloved character. She embodies the teenage spirit, even as a child, and it's been known for some time now that the audience was hungry for a more grown-up version. We were bound to see a readaptation at some point, but nobody could have foreseen how popular the series would become.

Apple TV+ is adding to its original projects in preparation for the New Year 2023. Super League: The War for Football, a sports documentary produced by All Rise Films, is the newest addition to the streaming platform. Apple TV+ recently revealed the official trailer and release date for Super League: The War for Football. 

If you're a fan of documentary series, then Prime Video should be your next home as the new year 2023 begins. The streaming platform is well prepared to blast the walls with The Test season two, an Australian documentary series from Amazon Studios. The Test landed on Amazon Prime Video in March 202 for the first season, comprising eight episodes. Fans can relate the long way of nearly three years to the intensification of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic that halted the production of many shows and films. The show has managed an impressive 8.9 out of 10-star rating on IMDb. Prime Video revealed that the show would launch its second season in early 2023 before coming up with the actual premiere date.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is chasing a dream. True love takes work, and it doesn't fade because your spouse gained ten pounds or injured themselves. It about building something together, a life, a family, and success, and having a hand to hold in your last moments. There's nothing more rewarding than sharing your life with somebody.

The best thing about limited series is that they keep their stories short and ambitious without you having to commit to hundreds of new episodes.The finest miniseries of 2022 certainly kept it short and sweet and came in various genres, including biographies, dramas, thrillers to comedies, you name it. The biographical drama Theodore Roosevelt focuses on one of history's most compelling and youngest U.S. Presidents, who was a cowboy, conservationist, adventurer, and soldier, among other things. Other limited releases like That Dirty Black Bag and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey are dramas that tell deft stories all wrapped up in short episodes. And then there is a wide array of thrillers like The Patient, A Friend of the Family, Candy, The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window just to name a few. Below is our list of the best new limited series that debuted in 2022 as per critic and audience ranking.

A sigh of relief for fans of the drama series The Sex Lives of College Girls as it gets a renewal for the third season on HBO Max. The news has brought so much joy to fans, with the rising number of shows that are getting cancelled by the streamer, including Batgirl, Raised by Wolves, Time Traveller’s Wife, Close Enough, and Gordita Chronicles. The Sex Lives of College Girls received its third season greenlight on December 14, 2022, a day before the second season finale episode aired. The show launched its second season on November 17th, generating 7.8/10 stars on IMDb, a 73% score on TV Guide, and a 94% average Tomatometer (in conjunction with the first season). ITV X, RTÉ Player, and Streamz have adopted the show for the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and Belgium, respectively.

HBO Max and CBC have granted a renewal to their captivating Canadian TV series, Sort Of, for the third season weeks after launching season two. Sort Of is a situation-comedy show that landed on CBC in November 2021 for the first season. HBO Max later picked up the series, representing the United States and aired its first season a week after it launched on CBC. Sky Comedy and Stan have also adopted Sort Of for the United Kingdom and Australia, respectively.

When HBOMax's parent company, WarnerMedia, merged with Discovery Inc earlier this year, we knew that there were going to be some changes. Discovery inherited a mountain of debt--more than $53 billion dollars--and the new CEO David Zaslav was promising to turn that number into $3 billion worth of savings. It was ambitious and terrifying.Fans knew that some of their favorite shows were going to be canceled, and many of them were already in limbo. Campaigns sprouted up all across the internet. Suddenly bots and desperate fans were replying to every Tweet in sight, begging HBO for mercy. Viewers had spent so long gorging on what seemed to be an infinite buffet of quality programming, and they weren't about to let that end without making their voices heard. HBO was ruthless. As of today, they've removed more than 80 titles from their lineup. Westworld is gone. The Nevers is no more. Even cheap reality shows like FBOY Island and Finding Magic Mike were taken down, and many people believed that they were safe. The loss was overwhelming. But nothing was felt more succinctly than the loss of Raised By Wolves.

A new year is approaching, and Prime Video can't help but release new shows for the most exciting beginning ever. The streamer has several shows scheduled to premiere in January 2023, including The Rig, a David Macpherson creation. The Rig is a Scottish supernatural drama and thriller TV show, partially based on David Macpherson's stories from his father about working in the gas and oil industry. Amazon Prime Video offered a green light for the show in November 2020, while the filming happened between March and August 2021. The streamer provided the show with a January 2023 premiere date.

Geoff Johns' Stargirl is back for the third season after more than a year of waiting. DC's Stargirl (famously known as Stargirl) is an adaptation of one of DC Comics' superhero characters, Courtney Whitmore, launched on DC Universe. The CW later acquired the show for the second season, making it a CW original in July 2020. Stargirl has attracted a whopping 7.2 out of 10 stars over the last two seasons and a 94% average Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes (accompanied by a 78% average audience score). The show was renewed for the third season (Freenemies) in May 2021 on The CW, becoming a co-project between the streamer and HBO Max. The upcoming season will premiere on both streamers as the series' final installment.

Countless outcasts and freethinkers have found refuge in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials. He told us that it was OK to disobey and to question. We could be whoever we wanted to be, believe whatever we wanted to believe, and we didn't have to apologize for it. The value of that message cannot be overstated, and it was delivered with unrivaled prowess and skill. Pullman was a master storyteller. He could leave us in shock or on the verge of tears. There were moments when we'd have to take a step back, catch our breath, and recognize just how beautiful his words could be. I will never forget those moments, and I hope nobody else does either. These books should be passed down from parent to child, kept as heirlooms, and cherished for generations. They belong on the shelf with all of the greatest works of western literature. Nobody who has read them could possibly deny that they are masterpieces. It is with a spirit of dedication and honor that we memorialize the scenes that swayed the soul.

The Lying Life of Adults is the newest Netflix project, an adaptation of Elena Ferrante's novel of the same name. Ferrante's book 'La vita bugiarda degli adulti' in Italian was published in English in September 2020, providing film and show creators the opportunity to adapt it into a TV project. Francesco Piccolo, Laura Paolucci, and Edoardo De Angelis grabbed the chance to co-write Ferrante's book into a TV show adaptation with the help of the original author. Netflix revealed in May 2020 that it would adapt the series into its category in collaboration with Fandango, an Italian Production Company. The streaming platform then offered the mini-series a January 2023 release date.

Finally, the sequel miniseries The Best Man: The Final Chapters premiered on Thursday, December 22, 2022, on Peacock and has been met with amazing ratings and reviews.
