The region occasionally experiences minor rainfall and floods. However, severe downpours like the one captured in the video only occur once in a decade. In the event of rain, swift measures are taken to close off the Ancient City of Petra to visitors. Unfortunately, both the staff and tourists were caught off guard by the sudden rainfall. Thankfully, the tourists were evacuated without any issues arising.
