Why Gino Barelli Matters in 'American Horror Story'
The bus ride from the West Campus to the downtown station usually took about ten minutes, give or take, depending upon how many times they had to stop to pick up passengers. The route traveled through a section of town called Barrio Hollywood, known for its tiny, low-income homes, its massive trailer parks, and its thriving population of street addicts. I barely noticed. I was young, zealous, and naive--immersing myself in what would eventually become a failed college career. I would take a seat in front, pull my history book out of my oversized shoulder bag, and immerse myself in stories about the Indus River Valley and Mesopotamia, ignoring everyone that passed by. I was determined to memorize every tiny thing in that giant tome, every invention, and every name and date. I was going to prove myself, and make sure that everyone knew I was the best. But not that afternoon.I noticed the man when he got on--his bright blue eyes, the kind you'd never want to make contact with. He was hairless except for a fuzzy patch of baby hair, and his skin was leathery--tanned like he'd been in the oven too long. He was covered in white splotches, almost like vitiligo or chemical burns. He got on the bus, sauntered up, smelling like rolled cigarettes and cheap weed, and slapped the book out of my hand. 'The fuck dude?' he shouted. 'You call my girl a d*ke?' He reached forward, grabbed me by the collar, and slammed me in the face--hard enough that one of the passengers in the back gasped. There was a lurch when the driver slammed on the brakes and yelled, 'Get the hell off!' He turned in the driver's direction, let me go, and started to walk out. 'Man, fuck this shit. I ever see you again, so help me.'

'The Patient' and the Beginning of a Larger Conversation in the Horror Genre
Warning: This article contains spoilers for 'The Patient' which began airing on Hulu on August 30. Hulu's 'The Patient' is a different kind of horror, defined by its lighthearted style and lack of melodrama. It stars Steve Carell, a comedy superstar famous for his roles in 'The Office' and the '40-Year-Old Virgin.' Carell plays a successful psychologist, Dr. Alan Strauss, who's abducted by his patient, Sam Fortner (Domnhall Gleason). He wakes up and finds himself lying in a strange bed with a shackle around his ankle. During their initial conversation, it's revealed that Sam is a serial killer who kidnaps the doctor in an attempt to get help with his homicidal urges. If Sam was truthful about the things he'd done in a normal office setting, he'd have to worry about the doctor reporting him, and he couldn't have that. Instead, he found a doctor that he could hold hostage in his downstairs den. It's a simple environment. There's green shag carpeting, board games stacked up against the banister, and double doors leading outside. It's a stark departure from the dungeons and makeshift torture chambers we can usually expect from the genre. From the beginning, Carell, who colors the character with a sense irony and cynicism, takes a hushed approach to things. There's no clawing at the walls, no banging around, and no begging. Instead, he tries to manipulate his captor, faking treatment options, advising him against this kind of care, and trying to convince Sam that he wouldn't have to report him at all. He could simply forget this ever happened and treat Sam like any normal patient. He says they could even make an appointment for the following week. It's all a ruse to get free, and none of it works. Ultimately, he's forced to create a shank out of his foot cream tube, which he uses to hold Sam's mother up at knifepoint. He gives Sam the choice to either turn himself in or watch his mother die. It doesn't work. Sam tackles him to the ground and strangles him just like he does with his other victims. There was no struggle--or very little, at least--no fireworks, no gunshot, no suspense. Everything felt futile, or at least doubtful, and strangulation is not a dramatic death. It's silent and quick. Strauss is killed in the same muted style that characterized the entire series.
Donald Glover May Star in 'Community' Movie Adaption
Donald Glover, often known by his rap alias Childish Gambino, will rejoin members of the 'Community' cast in a film adaption of the popular TV series. The TV show was one of Glover's first ever acting gigs and had him performing on the show in front of a big audience on NBC.It has been reported by several outlets this week that Peacock and Sony Pictures TV have approved the adaption of the show, based on a study group's interactions at a Community College, in September. The shows original creator, Dan Harmon, is currently writing the upcoming movie based on the show.In a recent interview with Variety, Harmon said he couldn't imagine producing the new film without Glover's presence.“For lack of a better word, there was a ball fumbled… [Glover] is down to clown,” he said. “Man, I would not want to think about making [the movie] without Donald.”While it appears a number of the show's former stars have already been re-signed to star in the movie version, fans were questioning the absence of Glover in a greenlight announcement of the movie last week.Along with Donald Glover, also missing from the announcement was Yvette Nicole Brown.Harmon has since subdued outcry from fans somewhat with his recent comments to Variety.'It would be difficult to really commit to doing this thing without Donald,' he said to the outlet.'So I believe he is coming back,' he added.'I think if there's names missing from a list, its because the names that are on the list, their deals are agreed upon enough to say that it's OK to say they are on the list, and anybody that's not on the list, it's just not quite the case yet.'

Everything We Know About Greg Gutfeld’s Personal Life
If you watch Fox News regularly, there are high chances you are already familiar with Greg Gutfield. Greg has made a name for himself as a political satirist and right-wing supporter. While many support political commentary brand, others seem to perceive his rightist comedy as annoying. For instance, as far back as 2003, the New York Times referred to Greg as a “publishing pest” who regularly mocked and harassed his rivals. However, love him or hate him, there is no doubt that Greg Gutfeld has risen to become one of the most famous (and probably controversial) political commentators of our time. Here, we discuss Greg's personal life and relationship with his wife.
Best Characters Played By Evan Peters in 'American Horror Story'
Time and time again, Evan Peters has proven himself to be a formidable presence onscreen, delivering colorful, dynamic performances that bring 'American Horror Story' to life. He'll spend months preparing for roles and living as his characters. He'll study their accents, walk like them, talk like them, and even dress like them, all in an attempt to become someone else. It's called method acting--a dive so deep that each character's personality traits are said to meld with the actor's. It can get messy. Evan Peters has been very open about the effect it has had on his mental health. After playing Kai Anderson in 'Cult,' he was forced to take a two-year break, but that didn't stop him from taking on the lead role in 'Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.' He spent four months dressing the part, wearing those ridiculous glasses and custom-made shoes. Peters even wore lead weights on his arms in an attempt to mimic Dahmer's posture. He said it was the most difficult thing he's ever done, and he even admitted to having to rely on the crew for emotional support. But it was worth it. When the series premiered he had jaws dropping by the millions. The toll it's taken is visible. He's a shell of his former self with dirty, rust-red hair and a pallid complexion. It's amazing how much he's sacrificed for us, and Dahmer is just the tip of the iceberg. He's spent more than a decade showing off his skills on 'American Horror Story,' and he deserves recognition.
