'I don’t need to see spice worms again. And I certainly don’t need to watch a film where the word ‘spice’ is pronounced so dramatically.'

From Tarantino’s comments, it appears he's not only uninterested in the Dune series but also generally against the culture of remakes.

He added, 'One remake after another keeps coming. People constantly ask if I've seen DuneRipley, or Shōgun. I keep saying no every time. There are six or seven Ripley novels, but instead of something new, they keep redoing the same thing. So I’m not interested in watching something for a third time. I watched Shōgun back in the 1980s. I don’t need to see that story again. Even if I were sent to ancient Japan in a time machine, I wouldn’t care. I’ve already seen that story.'
