The General Directorate of Meteorology (GDM) has published a new five-day weather forecast map covering the dates of August 22-26. As we enter the last week of August, the influence of Basra and desert heat continues to persist across the country, yet notable changes in the forecast map catch the eye. Throughout the weekend, scorching temperatures are expected to intensify across Turkey. However, by the middle of the new week, thunderstorms are anticipated in certain regions.

The Meteorology Department has published a five-day weather map. According to the predictions of the Meteorology Department, the influence of the African and Basra heat will continue to be felt across the country on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23. In the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia regions, temperatures are expected to hover above seasonal norms.

Specialists are issuing warnings to citizens planning to spend the weekend outdoors, particularly advising against exposure to direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day, from 11:00 to 16:00.

Starting from Monday, August 24th, the first regional changes on the map begin to appear. While sunny and hot weather continues to affect a large part of Turkey, there will be local rain transitions in the inland areas of the Eastern Black Sea and the north of Eastern Anatolia. Temperatures, on the other hand, will generally maintain their high trend. A significant fluctuation in the weather is expected on Tuesday, August 25th and Wednesday, August 26th.

According to the meteorological map, thunderstorms will particularly affect the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions, as well as the entirety of the Eastern Anatolia Region. It is also predicted that there may be local rain transitions along the coastal areas of the Eastern Mediterranean.
