Baris Manco was born on January 1, 1943, in Istanbul. His first encounter with the stage coincided with the period when he was a student at Galatasaray High School in 1958. After graduating from high school, he attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium to complete his higher education.He founded the band Kurtalan Ekspres, which played an important role in his musical career, and gave concerts in many countries both in Turkey and abroad. He left a big mark in the music world with over 200 compositions. These compositions earned him 12 gold and 1 platinum album.
