Young Woman Surprised by Camel's Sudden Move During Photo Session in Cappadocia
Cappadocia, with its fairy chimneys, valleys, and unique natural texture, is among the top regions that host both local and foreign tourists throughout the year. In addition to balloon tours, excursions and photo shoots with animals like camels and horses in the region also attract visitors' interest.
A young woman wanting to take a photo with a camel in Cappadocia was taken aback by the animal's sudden movement towards her. In the footage, as the young woman poses next to the animal, the camel suddenly extends its head towards the woman's neck. The woman, losing her balance, swayed to the side, but managed to move away from the animal shortly after. The note added to the video, 'I was going to ask the camel why its neck was crooked, but it crooked my neck instead,' brought a smile to those who watched the scene.

Be careful when taking photos with camels!
Although camels are generally known to be calm and docile creatures, they can become uncomfortable around strangers, crowds, and sudden movements. Particularly during the mating season that begins in the winter months, it is known that male camels tend to be more irritable. Furthermore, resisting the single move of an animal weighing up to half a ton is often not an easily manageable task. Therefore, when taking a photo with a camel, it's crucial to avoid standing too close to the animal's head and mouth, to heed the owner's directions, and to refrain from making abrupt movements.
But why is a camel's neck curved?
This distinct curvature in a camel's neck is not a coincidence. Like all mammals, a camel's neck also contains seven vertebrae, but these vertebrae are arranged in such a way that they form a long, S-shaped structure. Thanks to this flexible structure, the camel can lower its head to graze and also reach up to the branches above.
