1. Aster: These classic flowers, blooming in shades of purple, pink, and blue during the September-October period, are a favorite among pollinators at the end of summer.

2. Chrysanthemums: Instead of buying them ready in pots in the fall, chrysanthemums planted in the ground during summer establish better roots and become perennial.

3. Black-Eyed Susans: These drought-resistant flowers, which quickly take root in the soil, adorn the garden throughout the fall with their golden and amber hues.

4. Autumn Joy (Sedum): This plant, which easily settles in hot weather, offers a visual feast ranging from pink to copper while maintaining its structure until winter.

5. Japanese Anemones: This species, blooming in pink and white tones between August and October, requires patience at first but maintains its vitality for years.

6. Ornamental Cabbage: As temperatures drop and especially after frost, the colors of this hardy visual element of the winter months become even more pronounced.

7. Pansies and Violas: These budget-friendly and reliable species continue to bloom non-stop from fall to winter.

8. Goldenrod (Solidago): The plant, which shines with its golden yellow color in September, is an excellent food source for late-emerging pollinators.

Bajic, who draws attention to common mistakes made when planting in the middle of summer, points out that it's too late in the season for Dahlia (Star Flowers), and they should be planted in spring. Potted Chrysanthemums bought in bloom in September, on the other hand, tend to dry out as they can't root before the frost hits.

Lastly, it's emphasized that Sunflowers also fall behind the season without blooming if planted in the middle of summer, hence the necessity of planting them at the start of summer.
