Diablo: Immortal No Longer Requires Real Money to Access End-Game Content
Much to the surprise of the gaming community (most especially Blizzard fans), the massive American video game developer and publisher has announced that its free-to-play MMORPG, Diablo: Immortal, will no longer require real money for players to access end-game content.Diablo: Immortal is an installment of one of Blizzard’s most popular and profitable video game series of all time, the Diablo series. Straying away from its action role-playing game roots, Diablo: Immortal is a massively multiplayer online action role-playing video game that is also marred with microtransactions. The game was developed by Blizzard Entertainment alongside NetEase, so it’s not really surprising to see this kind of microtransaction creeping into the game—and we really hope this doesn’t creep into other games in the series.

Can We Trust Commander Lawrence in 'The Handmaid's Tale'?
Warning: This article contains spoilers for 'The Handmaid's Tale' season 5 episode 6 'Together,' which aired October 12, 2022.Writers talk a lot about creating three-dimensional characters. We'll have imaginary conversations with them, sit down with them, and try to understand who they are. They can't just be good guys or bad guys, and they can't be based on a single personality trait. They should live within the nuance, just like people in the real world. But readers don't want nuanced characters. That's not how humans think. They puzzle us. We'll spend hours trying to figure them out and categorize them, bashing a square peg into a circular hole. Writers compensate by becoming portrait painters, fixing crooked noses, adding in a touch of beauty or malice--something the readers can use to find out which label they deserve. If most writers are painters, 'The Handmaid's Tale' was created by photographers. They don't care about good or bad. They give us reality, and they tell us to take it or leave it. That's exactly what they did with Commander Joseph Lawrence. He is guilty of horrific crimes, but there's more to him--infinite shades of light and dark, and his intentions aren't easy to understand. He always seems to be on the fence, playing the field--lying and scheming, but for what? What does Joseph really want? Can we trust him?

Riot’s popular (and successful) free-to-play, team-based first-person shooter has been out of beta for more than two years already, and its relative success can be attributed to the game’s amazing visuals and gameplay—think of CS: GO but with the addition of unique skills per agent or character. Moreover, the game has also received significant updates during this time, such as additional maps to play on (and the unfortunate removal of one), new agents (and another one coming just around the corner), and tons of new skins and cosmetic enhancements.

Who Are the Bene Gesserit and What Part MIght They Play in 'Dune: The Sisterhood'?
Everything about the Bene Gesserit sisterhood is designed to intrigue the reader. They exist in a realistic universe, confined by the same laws of physics and reasoning as our own. But through sheer will and discipline, they've managed to bend those rules, gaining seemingly supernatural abilities in the process. They've been called psychics, priestesses, witches, and mediums, but none of those things are true. They are the great manipulators, masters of the human mind, the overseers of society, always close by but never fully understood. They kept their mysteries cloaked in rituals and ancient encrypted texts. We knew very little about where they came from. We had heard rumors of a matriarchal society that had sprung up on old Terra countless eons before the events of Frank Herbert's Dune. There were contradictory legends of a group of sorceresses, who had come from another planet filled with poisonous jungles. The nature of their reverend mothers, leaders within the sect, was also a mystery. Some said they were mutants, carrying a specific gene that allowed them to dip into an enhanced state of mind. But in the original novel, Paul Atreides and his mother Jessica were able to attain this state after learning how to subdue a poison that originated from Arrakis. Some of these myths can be decoded and thrown out, but the sisters will always have their secrets, even from the audience.
