Turkey Weather : Meteorological Office Reveals Eid al-Adha Forecast for All Provinces
The General Directorate of Meteorology (GDM) has released a critical weather forecast report that will impact the plans of millions of citizens. According to the latest assessments, a wave of cool and rainy weather will prevail throughout the country during the Feast of Sacrifice. The partly cloudy and overcast weather, which will start over the weekend, will give way to intermittent showers and thunderstorms during the holiday period. It is anticipated that the weather temperatures, particularly in the southern, inland, and eastern regions, will drop below the seasonal norms.
What will the weather be like during the holiday?
According to data obtained from the Meteorology Department, a predominantly overcast and cloudy weather will prevail across a vast majority of the country on Tuesday, May 26, which is the eve of the festival. Southern and Inner Aegean, Mediterranean Region, the southern parts of Central Anatolia, Middle and Eastern Black Sea along with the north of Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia will experience local heavy showers and thunderstorms.
On the first day of the festival, the area affected by the rain will expand even further. In the eastern part of Marmara, Central Anatolia, Mediterranean, Southern and Inner Aegean, as well as in the inner parts of the Black Sea region, precautions against rainfall are advised during the festival prayer and animal sacrifice hours. Intermittent showers will occur across the whole Southeastern Anatolia Region and in all provinces of Eastern Anatolia, except for Hakkari and Sirnak.

The rainy system will reach its peak on the second and third days of the holiday.
Weather Forecast for the 2nd Day of the Holiday, May 28th, Thursday
On the second day, thunderstorm showers will make their presence felt across Turkey, except for the southern coast of the Aegean, the southern line of Southeastern Anatolia, and the borders of Hakkari and Şırnak.
Weather Forecast for the 3rd Day of the Holiday, May 29th, Friday
A similar pattern is predicted for the third day of the holiday, with only the Aegean coast and the southernmost parts of the Southeast remaining outside of this rainy weather. On the fourth and final day of the holiday, showers will continue to persist in all regions except for the west of Thrace, the Aegean coast, and the south of Southeastern Anatolia.

In the capital, the eve of the holiday will be dominated by a heavily clouded sky. Starting from the first day of the holiday, the residents of the capital will be affected by intermittent showers for four days.
Istanbul weather forecast
In the megacity, a partly cloudy weather is expected on the first day of the holiday. However, on the second and third days, heavy showers and thunderstorms will take Istanbul under their influence.
Izmir weather forecast
In the pearl of the Aegean, no extreme rainfall is anticipated throughout the holiday; a weather pattern of partly and heavily cloudy is predicted for the duration of the holiday, including the eve.
