[NSFW] 11 Shocking Banned Fashion Advertisements!
The fashion advertising industry knows how to get attention to promote their work. However, sometimes these visuals can be too edgy and provocative that they disturb many people. Some of these striking ads even had to be banned after making many others uncomfortable at the same time.
The following photographs are NSFW and contain graphic images that may disturb some of the audience.
1. Miu Miu, 2011

Although this campaign is not provocative like the other ones on this list, this ad was immediately banned as it depicts a teenager sitting over the rails.
2. Tom Ford For Men, 2007

This controversial ad was created by Terry Richardson. This bold advertisement was found misogynistic and removed immediately.
3. Oh, Lola! By Marc Jacobs, 2011

Allegations of pedophilic undertones have caused this campaign to be banned in 2011. The casting of Dakota Fanning still finds this claim irrelevant after years.
4. Gucci, 2003

Another Tom Ford incident, this campaign was found provocative as it was revealing pubic hair in a racy way.
5. Sisley, 2007

One thing is for sure Terry Richardson loves to create provoking images. This campaign was considered to glamorize drug use and had to be removed. Turns out using Fashion Junkie was not a clever decision after all.
6. Opium by Yves Saint Laurent, 2000

UK’s Advertising Standards Authority notes this photograph for YSL’s Opium starring Sophie Dahl as the eighth most complained about advertisement of all time by reaching out 900 complaints after its first release.
7. Dolce & Gabbana, 2007

People obviously won't stop talking about Steve Klein's provocative campaign for Dolce & Gabbana. This ad had to be taken down after promoting sexual assault.

This campaign titled 'Farming' is no surprise but Terry Richardson's.
9. American Apparel, 2013

American Apparel is known to have edgy and provocative style when it comes to advertisements. Although, American Apparel created many of these controversial ads, none of these ads were actually banned.
