Demet Akalın Reached 299 Million Streams This Year, Yet She Raged At Her Spotify Wrapped Results!
Spotify Wrapped 2025 has been unveiled, and once again, it's all chaos… Upon examining the Wrapped lists, we noticed that, as in recent years, the wave of rap and trap music has seized the pinnacle. Demet Akalın, who collaborated with various rappers to produce new songs this year, raised the flag of rebellion.
Despite her Spotify for Artists card displaying 14.3 million listeners, 14.4 million hours, and 299 million streams, Akalın was irked by her absence from the Turkish charts.
As is customary every year, Spotify released its "Year in Review / Wrapped" cards at the end of 2025.

These summaries have now become almost like report cards at the end of the year for both users and artists.
According to the official charts, the dominance of rap and trap became increasingly evident among the most listened to artists in Turkey in 2025. The names that stood out were BLOK3 (the most listened to artist of the year), Ati242, Semicenk, Era7capone, Lvbel C5, UZI, and Sezen Aksu.
Moreover, the list also includes names such as Gülşen, Yalın, Dedublüman, Hande Yener, Ebru Gündeş, Ezhel, Manifest, Simge, and Sertab Erener.
This is precisely where Demet Akalın steps onto the scene. Being an undisputed stalwart of pop music, Akalın felt a mix of pride and irritation when she laid eyes on her own Spotify for Artists card.

It was revealed that Kartta reached 14.3 million listeners by 2025, was listened to for a total of 14.4 million hours, and made a mark with 299 million streams. Despite his songs being listened to in 180 countries, the fact that his name was not mentioned in the 'most listened to artists' list announced in Turkey provoked Akalın on social media. He expressed his resentment by saying, 'Acknowledge my rights for once, @SpotifyTurkey, who didn't include me in the list with 299 million.'
