As a result of the verdict, Marvel has terminated its contract with Majors, prompting Disney and Marvel to reevaluate their agreements and make adjustments to upcoming film projects.

The legal issues surrounding Jonathan Majors began in March 2023 following a 911 call from a New York apartment. Subsequently, Majors was arrested by the New York Police Department, and after a two-week trial, he was found guilty of two counts of harassment and assault.

While Majors was convicted on two charges, he was acquitted of third-degree intentional assault and second-degree aggravated harassment. The outcome of the trial led to Marvel severing ties with the actor.
