Decision about Turkey from the automobile giant.
The German automotive giant Opel is rolling up its sleeves to start manufacturing the Combo in Bursa, Turkey. Starting from the third quarter of 2026, the Combo will be produced at the Tofaş Factory in Bursa and will hit the roads bearing the 'Made in Turkey' stamp.
Opel Turkey Brand Director, Yiğit Yantaç, shared his thoughts on the matter, stating that the Combo will come to life in Bursa through the combination of Turkish engineering and Tofaş's high production power. He emphasized that this development brings together German and Turkish engineering cultures in a remarkably powerful synergy.
The company had also manufactured its other models in Bursa.
The high sales success demonstrated by the Opel Combo is the driving force behind the decision to relocate it to Turkey. The Combo plays a key role in maintaining the brand's market share in the Turkish commercial vehicle market. Opel managed to become the third most preferred brand in the overall segment by selling a total of 27,471 light commercial vehicles in Turkey throughout 2025. The Combo single-handedly accounted for the lion's share of this high sales figure, with 15,722 units sold. The model's successful sales performance continued without losing momentum in 2026. In the first seven months of the year, the Combo reached a sales figure of 7,779 units, successfully holding approximately 15% of the market share in the CCombivan segment it operates in.
On the other hand, the company had previously integrated the production processes of models such as the Zafira, Vivaro, and Vivaro Van into Bursa.
