In 1992, Oral's book 'Böğürtlen Cini ve Sarı Gaga' was shortlisted by UNESCO Noma-Concours in Japan and published in Japanese by Kagyusha Publishing House. His continued success in Japan was confirmed in 2001 when he received an Honorary Award at the 'European Illustrators' biennale for his work 'Duş Kedileri.'
The Digital Milestone with "Kırmızı Elma"
Oral's 2008 book 'Kırmızı Elma' became the first Turkish children's book published on the internet, and was chosen as 'The Best Illustrated Children's Book of the Year' by IBBY Turkey. It was subsequently translated into 12 languages including English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Catalan, Korean, Japanese, Swedish, Estonian, Macedonian, and Bulgarian.

In 2012, his work 'Pirinç Lapası ve Küçük Ejderha' was again chosen as 'The Best Illustrated Children's Book of the Year' by IBBY Turkey. That same year, the Children's and Youth Publications Association (ÇGYD) chose his book 'Kırmızı Kanatlı Baykuş' as 'The Best Illustrated Story Book of the Year'.
