In a triumphant moment at the 2024 Oscars, Emma Stone clinched her second lead actress Academy Award for her compelling portrayal of Bella Baxter in the film 'Poor Things.' Overwhelmed with emotion, Stone expressed gratitude to her fellow nominees, acknowledging the remarkable women in her category. Through tears, she extended appreciation to director Yorgos Lanthimos and the entire cast and crew, highlighting the collective effort invested in bringing 'Poor Things' to life. Adding a touch of humor, Stone playfully revealed that the back of her gown had 'broken,' attributing it to Ryan Gosling's performance of 'I'm Just Ken.'

Despite a hoarse voice, Stone sweetly dedicated a moment to her three-year-old daughter, sharing the joy of her impending birthday. The evening's host, Jimmy Kimmel, couldn't resist a playful nod to the past, making an 'Envelopegate' joke—a reference to the infamous mix-up during the 2017 Oscars between 'La La Land' and 'Moonlight.'

This marks Stone's second Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role, her first triumph being in 2017 for 'La La Land.' Presenting the award were previous winners Jennifer Lawrence, Michelle Yeoh, Sally Field, Charlize Theron, and Jessica Lange, each delivering poignant speeches about the nominees before Yeoh announced Stone as the winner. A visibly stunned Stone embraced her friend Lawrence on stage, both moved by the poignant moment.

In 'Poor Things,' Stone embodies a child-like character reanimated by a mad professor using the brain of her unborn child. The film, known for its bizarre and outlandish storyline, received a total of 11 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Mark Ruffalo, Best Director for Lanthimos, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, and Production Design, ultimately securing four awards.

Stone and Lanthimos, who previously collaborated on the Oscar-winning film 'The Favourite' in 2018 and a 2022 short film, are set to work on two future projects, including 'Kinds of Kindness' featuring Margaret Qualley and 'Euphoria' star Hunter Schafer. The dynamic duo continues to captivate audiences with their compelling cinematic ventures.
