Burj Khalifa Is Losing Its Title As The World's Tallest Building

Located in Dubai and completed in 2010, the construction cost of Burj Khalifa amounted to approximately $1.2 billion. With steel floors added after the 150th floor, Burj Khalifa, which has 160 floors, is set to lose its status as the tallest building in the coming years.
The Jeddah Tower, under construction in Dubai, is planned to surpass the 1-kilometer mark and become the world's tallest building.
The current tallest building, Burj Khalifa, will be surpassed by approximately 180 meters by the Jeddah Tower. Additionally, the design of the tower is by an American architect who also designed Burj Khalifa.
Construction of the Jeddah Tower began in 2013 but was halted in 2018 due to financial issues.
After about a third of the construction was completed in five years, construction of the Jeddah Tower resumed in September 2023. The decision to continue construction was made after receiving bids from multinational construction companies.
Initially planned to take approximately 63 months during the planning phase, construction of the tower is still ongoing.
With a total cost of $2.2 billion, the Jeddah Tower, once completed, will be the highest point reached by humans. There is currently no definitive information on when the construction of the Jeddah Tower will be completed.
