Büşra Karakaş Issues Statement Following Allegations of Assault by a Russian Tourist
A battery incident allegedly occurred at a birthday party in Istanbul has stirred up a wide reaction on social media. Büşra Karakaş, the 2022 Miss Turkey and national kickboxer, responded to the accusations leveled against her with a written statement. Russian tourist Maria Avdienko claimed to have been assaulted by Karakaş at the party she attended through a friend; with the incident making headlines, all eyes turned to the famous model. Karakaş, on the other hand, vehemently denied the allegations, claiming that the events were entirely fabricated.
Here are the details…
Maria Avdienko, a 25-year-old tourist who visited Istanbul for vacation, claimed to have been attacked by Büşra Karakaş at a birthday party held in a book office in Beşiktaş.

Avdienko's allegations, who claimed to be aggrieved, quickly became a hot topic on social media, and the anticipated response from the Karakaş camp was not long in coming.
Büşra Karakaş, emphasizing that she represents Turkey on international platforms, dismissed the allegations as baseless, manipulative, and an attempt to tarnish her reputation in her statement. She provided the following account of the night in question:
'The individual in question was not invited to the party. He forced his way in, and it was noticed that he was secretly recording with smart glasses after he entered. He was asked to leave the event for violating the privacy of the guests, but he resisted leaving, displaying aggressive behavior, and even demanded money in exchange for his departure. There was absolutely no assault or physical intervention involved.'
Karakaş shared the following information about the process leading to the police station:

'On the night of the incident, law enforcement arrived at the scene of the celebration and a few individuals were invited to the police station. At the station, after it became apparent that a person named Maria A. had no complaints against anyone, all parties were allowed to leave the premises.'
The model stated that no signs of assault were detected in the report taken eight days later, following Avdienko's decision to file a complaint.
In the final part of his statement, Karakas announced that he had initiated legal proceedings, asserting that the purpose of the incident was to tarnish his reputation:

In light of the current situation, it is evident that the unauthorized recording and circulation of images on social media, coupled with attempts to create pressure, have escalated the issue to the level of blackmail and character assassination. Consequently, legal and criminal proceedings have been initiated against the individuals involved, with the process being carried out under the auspices of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Our lawyers are closely monitoring the situation. I have full faith that the truth will emerge during the legal process. I urge the public not to give credence to unverified and one-sided allegations.
