No, their parents divorced back in 2015 after 40 years of marriage. This decision came as a shocker to both Tia and Tamera such late in their lives, but ultimately they accepted that their parents would be much happier separated.
Timothy and Darlene Mowry married each other after running away from their families. After three years, Darlene gave birth to their two children— Tia and Tamera.
As all lovebird stories go, Timothy and Darlene met each other during their high school years. They set off to pursue careers in the army, and both eventually earned the rank of Sergeant. In the coming years after the birth of their twins, the pair was blessed with two sons.
Tia stated in an interview,
“My parents, they were in the army. They ran away to be married at 18 years old. It was kind of like a little bit of a shotgun wedding, should I say.”
Darlene took up the role of her daughters’ manager. She represented them during their television upbringing, while Timothy started a job as a custody officer.
Their decision to separate was revealed out of the blue. Most fans, and especially their children seemed upset, but as long as the decision was mutual between the couple, no one denied them their happiness.

The Mowry family resides in Los Angeles as of now. This was a decision influenced by Tia and Tamera’s acting careers. Timothy and Darlene were previously living in Germany but later moved to Texas. Afterward, as Los Angeles proved to be more beneficial for acting opportunities, they shifted.
Timothy and Darlene might not be together anymore, but the family gets together every now and then. Mostly on occasions like Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
