Couple Accidentally Throws Away Nightstand Stashed With €42K, Finds It After 4 Days

This is exactly what happened to a couple living in the village of Warzymice, near the city of Szczecin in Poland. In the early days of September, while renovating their home, they realized they had forgotten a substantial amount of money accumulated over the years in one of the drawers of an old chest of drawers they had discarded.

The couple left their old dresser next to the trash bin while tidying up the house. Only a few hours had passed when they remembered that one of the drawers contained a savings of 42,000 euros (approximately 2 million TL).
Upon their return, they found neither the dresser nor the money. The couple reported the situation to both the police and a private detective. In the following days, security camera footage was reviewed, and conversations were held with neighborhood residents. Even though the chances of recovering the money seemed to be dwindling, the search continued relentlessly.
After four days of intense searching, they received the news they had been waiting for on Saturday, September 5th.
The woman learned about the recovery of the money through a phone call in the early hours of the morning. The couple was able to retrieve the entire sum of 42,000 euros without any shortfall; the woman's husband expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the search, mentioning that he had been unable to sleep for four nights straight. The exact details of how and by whom the money was found have not yet been disclosed, but the couple emphasized that what mattered most to them was the complete return of their savings.
