A 53-year-old French woman named Anne received a message on Facebook in February 2023. Everything started with this message, and she began talking to the fake Brad Pitt.
Months later, the fake Brad Pitt proposed to the woman.
He told her to divorce her millionaire husband. Anne accepted the proposal and divorced her husband, receiving 800,000 euros in alimony. The fake Pitt had his eye on this money as well. He first told her that he had bought himself a beautiful gift but needed a payment of $9,000 for customs clearance. The woman paid this amount.
To get more money, the fake Brad Pitt claimed that he had been diagnosed with cancer and could not use his own funds due to his ongoing divorce settlement with Angelina Jolie.
Anne sent money for Brad's 'treatment costs.' During this time, the woman could not talk to Pitt on the phone; they could only text. The reason for this was that Pitt was never available.
The scammer used artificial intelligence to create photos of Brad Pitt in the hospital and even sent the woman videos.
