The ratings for Tuesday, October 13, are in.
As expected, the Galatasaray–Barcelona match on TRT 1 dominated the evening. But the night’s surprise came from a series that aired just before kickoff. It got football fans tuning in early and saw its ratings rise across all three categories compared with last week. So which series lost ground on match night, and which one held its position? Here are the Total, AB, and ABC1 rankings for Tuesday, October 13.
Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı, starring Serkan Çayoğlu, returned for its new season with a time jump and a major cast shake-up.
TRT 1’s period drama Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı tells the story of Fatih Sultan Mehmed’s life, marked by a series of conquests. Serkan Çayoğlu stars as the young sultan and carries the show on his shoulders.
A major shake-up awaited viewers ahead of the new season. The story jumped forward in time, while a string of new faces joined the cast. Begüm Birgören became Serkan Çayoğlu’s new on-screen partner, and characters such as Şehzade Mustafa and Mirza Maksud were introduced.
The series, which airs on Tuesday evenings, got a boost from the channel’s schedule this week. As soon as Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı wrapped up, TRT 1 switched to the Champions League match between Galatasaray and Barcelona.
Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı drew viewers in early and climbed to fourth place in both the AB and ABC1 ratings.
The series ended at 9:44 p.m., and the match coverage began four minutes later. Football fans who tuned in early gave Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı a welcome boost. Last Tuesday, the series ranked ninth in Total with a rating of 3.12; this time, it climbed to 3.62 and moved up to seventh place.
Its biggest gains came in the AB and ABC1 categories. Rising from 2.82 to 3.19 in AB and from 3.23 to 3.87 in ABC1, the series climbed to fourth place in both rankings.
The match itself was the undisputed winner of the night. Galatasaray took the lead in the 28th minute with a goal from Batrakov, but went on to lose 4–1 to Barcelona. The result may have disappointed fans, but the ratings left no doubt: the match drew 15.14 in Total, 17.37 in AB and 18.32 in ABC1. Its AB share reached 50.73 percent—in other words, one in every two AB viewers watching television at the time was tuned in to the match.
Tuzlu Kahve held on to its top spot among TV dramas, but its ratings fell across all three charts on match night.
The picture was far less rosy for the other Tuesday dramas overshadowed by the match. Star TV’s Tuzlu Kahve topped the drama rankings in all three audience segments, despite overlapping with the match for its final 37 minutes. Even so, the drop was hard to miss: its rating fell from 5.44 to 4.81 in Total, from 6.76 to 5.92 in AB, and from 7.57 to 5.92 in ABC1.
Kanal D’s Haysiyet took the biggest hit. After placing in the top three in Total last week, it slipped to fifth with a rating of 4.07. It also fell from fourth to seventh in ABC1. NOW’s new series Anne Yarısı, meanwhile, held steady in Total at 3.81 and climbed from 3.38 to 3.57 in ABC1. TV8’s MasterChef Türkiye failed to make the Total top 10, but ranked seventh in AB and tenth in ABC1.
