According to travel advice shared by Ryanair with its passengers, black, grey, and navy blue suitcases are among the hardest to distinguish on the luggage carousel. Dark-colored suitcases of similar size and design can be mistakenly taken by another passenger due to inattentiveness.
This warning does not imply a ban or luggage rule specifically for grey suitcases. The aim is to enable passengers to recognize their own belongings more quickly and to reduce the likelihood of picking up the wrong suitcase.

Airline companies suggest the use of colorful luggage tags, suitcase covers, or distinctive straps that fit tightly to the body of the suitcase. Taking a photo of your suitcase before your journey and mentioning your contact details on the external tag, without displaying your full address, can also be helpful in case of loss.
However, long and loose ribbons can pose a risk as they may get caught in parts of the automatic luggage systems. It is essential that the tag or strap used is securely fastened to the suitcase, and barcode tags from previous flights should be removed prior to check-in.
