One of the world's most famous art museums, the Louvre Museum in Paris, was burglarized in the early hours of today. Following the heist, the Louvre Museum was closed to visitors. The thieves infiltrated the Galerie d’Apollon section, a mere stone's throw away from the Mona Lisa, where jewels from the Napoleonic era are on display, and made off with a total of nine historical pieces.

Thieves infiltrated the Galerie d’Apollon section of the Louvre Museum, one of the world's most famous art museums, and stole nine historical pieces belonging to Napoleon and the Empress, where jewels from the Napoleon era are displayed.
On the morning of October 19, thousands of Parisians and tourists could not enter the Louvre Museum. The museum was cordoned off by security forces and its doors were shut. Shortly thereafter, Rachida Dati, the French Minister of Culture, announced that the museum had been robbed.
